Photo Storage

You’ve probably noticed that photo storage is one of the most difficult aspects of saving your memories. You don’t have time to put each picture in an album, and your photo storage box is a mess with no organization whatsoever. You have pictures from your high school prom mixed with your daughter’s graduation and your son’s fourth birthday party. There are always better ways to store your photos, if you can find a little time each day to work on it.

If you want to store hard copy photos, the first thing to look into is an acid free photo storage box. This will allow you the opportunity to begin an archival photo storage project for all your old photographs without fear of yellowing or discoloration caused by acid in the paper. These photo storage boxes are found in many places, ranging from the craft or photo department your local supermart to your neighborhood arts and crafts or scrapbooking store. Such devices allow for portable photo storage without fear of dropping pictures from an open album. The next step is to find a photo storage cabinet in which you can put all your boxes. Organizing these boxes of photos can take as little as 15 minutes a day, as long as you work at it diligently every day.

The alternative is digital photo storage, which can also be accomplished in several ways. One form of free photo storage is to maintain your photos on a hard drive, either internal to your computer or external for plug and play. External hard drives have especially come down in price, and you can purchase one with a phenomenal amount of space as a form of free portable digital photo storage. This kind of digital photo storage unit beats finding a place for CDs and DVDs full of pictures any day, although this is another alternative.

Another option is to store your photos online. Several services offer online photo storage, where you can upload your prints and access them anytime. Your friends and family have access to them as well, as long as you provide them with the location and password information. In many cases, fee online photo storage is available with some sort of account, such as an email account through various web providers.

The best part of any of these solutions is that it only takes 15 minutes a day every day to slowly get your prints in order. Don’t hesitate to start – you could have amazing results in no time.
